• Judge Hoover was elected as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation in 2017.

• She completed the Ohio Women Bar Foundation’s Leadership Institute  in the Class of 2016-2017.

• She also attended the Appellate Judges Education Institute 2017 Summit under a full tuition scholarship.

• During her time on the court, Judge Hoover has also sat by assignment in multiple appellate districts.

• She has sat on the Ohio Supreme Court as a visiting judge  by assignment of the Chief Justice.

• She has taught continuing legal education seminars in Hocking County and Athens County; and she has been a guest speaker for various organizations and events.

​Personal

• Married to Attorney R. Tracy Hoover. They have  two sons, Nate and Nick. Nate (19) is a graduate from Shawnee State University and will be entering Toledo University School of Law in August 2018. Nick (18) is a senior at Shawnee State University studying biomedical sciences. He plans to attend medical school.

• Judge Hoover is the daughter of the late Estelito A. Moraleja, M.D. and Cora Moraleja; and she has two older brothers.

• She was a captain of the varsity cheerleading squad at Miami University.

• Judge Hoover and her two sons have been team members of A.K.J.U. (American Karate and Jujitsu Union) Team America.

• She is a third-degree black belt in Shotokan karate. She has been an assistant karate instructor; she has won numerous national and international competitions, including the U.S. Open in 2008 in traditional forms; she has also  been a judge in various local, state, national, and international karate competitions.

• Judge Hoover has training from Tactical Defense Institute in Level I-III Handgun Training and close quarters personal control Level I-II; She has also had training from ZNN Tactical Training Team LLC in impact weapons for self-defense and CCW Handgun Retention Concepts.

• She enjoys reading, writing, playing the piano, practicing yoga, and running marathons and other shorter distances. Judge Hoover runs daily with her German Shepherd, Katana.
